Understanding Chiropractic
- Your nervous system is composed of your brain, spinal cord and spinal nerves.
- Your nervous system controls and coordinates all the other body systems, including your immune system, respiratory system, digestive system, cardiovascular system, etc.
- Interference within the nervous system occurs when one or more of the spinal bones (vertebra) move out of their normal position.
- Stress causes the spinal bones to move out of position. The source of the stress may be physical, chemical and/or emotional.
- When there is interference within the nervous system, it diminishes the brain’s ability to properly communicate with the rest of the body.
- My job as a chiropractor is to examine a person’s spine to determine if there is nervous system interference and to then correct it by giving a specific, gentle adjustment.
Chiropractic care for all ages
- Pregnancy is a special time for both mother and baby. Making sure that the mother is comfortable and functioning at her best is of the utmost importance. Gentle, safe chiropractic adjustments can help relieve and even prevent common discomforts experienced in pregnancy.
- Infants oftentimes are subjected to much pulling and twisting during the birth process, which can lead to issues within their delicate spines.
- Toddlers often stumble and fall while learning to walk, which can cause issues in the lower spine.
- Young adults commonly face emotional stress due to peer pressure and the hormonal changes occurring within their bodies. They often also participate in sports that may cause physical stress on the spine.
- Adults and Seniors are certainly no strangers to stress. The pressure of maintaining relationships and raising children and/or grandchildren can become overwhelming at times. Work schedules and responsibilities are often also a source of stress.
